Nas & Damian Marley Take Us On A Journey With Their New Album
Nas and Damian Marley let the cameras roll with them for a day while they promoted their new album "Distant Relatives." I like what their doin' and although I do feel that Nas can stand to deliver his lyrics with a lil more aggressiveness behind them…at least the niccas is sayin' something and not just spittin' shit just to see how good they can rhyme syllables n' sh!t. To me that's where the real talent comes in. Check out the footage of Damian and Nas right here…

Nas Gets Oscar Nom’ For Mike Tyson’s Documentary Soundtrack
Big ups to Nas for being a part of something as legendary as the Mike Tyson Documentary. Nas’ song “Legendary” was featured on the soundtrack to Tyson’s doc. that released earlier this year and he is now getting nominated for an Oscar. This is a good look for Nas and Tyson. I’m glad to see this becuz Nas has been gettin’ his ass whipped by the legal system lately with the 50K pay-outs he’s been ordered to shell out to Kelis’ money hungry ass. And if y’all haven’t checked out the Tyson documentary yet it’s a must see.
On Jan. 12, 2010, the Academy will screen 63 contenders for the Original Song category, including Nas’ “Legendary.” God’s Son will have some stiff competition, though. Among some of the potential nominees are South African boy band Overtone’s “Colorblind” in the Clint Eastwood directed Invictus, actress Kate Hudson’s “Cinema Italiano” in Rob Marshall’s musical Nine and Karen O and The Kids for Spike Jonze’s big-screen take on Where the Wild Things Are. The chosen nominees will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at 5:30 a.m. PT from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The Academy Awards for the outstanding film achievements of 2009 will be given on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre. (VIBE)

Nas Just Got Ordered To More To Kelis, 51 G’s A Month!
Nas has been in court trying to get that $40K monthly bill lowered and also trying to get joint custody of their son. This man has been dishing out 40G’s a month and he didn’t even have joint custody?!! Either Nas has some weak legal representation or the judge got a hard on for fuckin’ rappers, financially that is. Nas has been paying Kelis 40 G’s a month since July! Ever since Nas and Kelis have been battling it out in court this week, shit has been taking a turn for the worse for Nas. Kelis testified that she can’t bring in any bread right now because she has a newborn baby…bullshit Kelis can’t make money on her own because nobody ain’t running to the record store or ITunes to buy a wack ass Kelis album! After hearing Nas’ and Kelis’ testimony the judge has determined that not only is 40G’s a month in spousal and child support suitable, it’s NOT ENOUGH. You heard me right today the judge increased the payments and ordered Nas to pay 51 G’s from now on. Kelis is going to get about 40.5G’s and their son is getting $10.5K. This some bullshit if ya ask me…read on…. Read more
Nas’ DUI Arrest Police Video Hits The ‘Net, Charges Get Dropped

When Nas got busted for a DUI charge back in September he admitted to the po-po’s that he was smokin’ weed that night. The report has just been made public recently and today the police dash-cam video of Nas taking a sobriety test hit the ‘net. The charges got dropped but Ray Charles would see that Nas was high as hell …LOL. He was stumbling while walking the straight line n’ errthing…watch the video below to see what I’m talking ’bout.
This is what the original police report said…
TMZ has obtained the police report, which says, “Mr. Jones had a green tongue with raised taste buds and his pulse was raised to 116 beats per minute.” The arresting officer says he observed “eyelid tremors in both eyes and body tremors.” Cops say the car smelled of “raw marijuana.” Nas told officers he had been smoking weed at his friend’s house before he was busted. Nas flunked one of the field sobriety tests — the walking test — by taking the wrong number of steps. (TMZ)

Nas And Damian Marley Link Up With Rap Legends For Hip Hop Debate
Nas and Damian are doing something positive. They’re going to be a part of a debate that focuses on the origin of hip hop and the affects it has had on the globe. Now if Nas could figure out a way to stop pro-creating with gold-diggin’ broads he might be on to something. Felt like throwin’ that in ‘cuz this man apparently needs some help in the baby mommas department. First baby mama wrote a book about you and now this one knockin’ down 40G’s a month! What’s next Nas?!! Just get out while you can until you figure that shit out.
Nas and Damian “Jr. Gong†Marley have teamed with National Geographic and V-Tech to present the “Distant Relatives†panel debate in Washington, DC next month.
The “Distant Relatives†panel debate will feature DJ Kool Herc, DJ Red Alert, dance hall legend Daddy U-Roy , Jeff Chang, Rakim and King Jammy.
The discussion will be moderated by radio personality/MTV host Sway Calloway. The event, which is being filmed for a documentary, will explore the origins of Hip-Hop in addition to the global impact the genre of music has had around the world.

Rakim Speaks On New Album And Collabo With Maino
Rakim is definitely one of the pioneers of the rap game and he’s still putting his feet on niggas necks with his new album, Seventh Seal, which hit stores today. He recently did an interview to speak on his new project and why he chose to collaborate with Maino.
On a side note, I think it’s messed up how major labels are sleeping on some of the older artists in the game like Rakim, Ice Cube, Scarface, etc. because these cats will crush a lotta of these new rappers, but corporate labels feel that just because they are in a slightly more mature age group they’re irrelevant. If that’s the case then can somebody please explain Jay-Z (approximately 41or 42), Rick Ross (I heard this nigga was about 43), and Akon ( you can look at this man and tell he’s his pushin’ mid-40’s)?!! I’m not hatin’ on none of these dudes, matter fact I’m bumpin’ Jay-Z all day and from time to time I fucks wit’ Rick, Akon ain’t really my steez but there is a market for him tho. All I’m saying is these labels need to stop being biased and listen to the quality of the work as opposed to tryna create a roster full of hot ring tone artists, nahmean! The ring-toners should have their place in the game and the more skilled artists deserve to have theirs too. Aiight I’m done venting, but damn I wish the partnership between Dr. Dre and Rakim would’ve worked out a few years back before they decided to part ways…now that woulda put a major dent in the game if ya ask me. Read what Rakim had to say below…
“Yeah, with Maino, it’s like, at this point you got a lot of people repping rap that I feel, you know, some people talk what they don’t live, you know what I mean,” Rakim explained. “And Maino is a cat that I feel is a true cat from the street. And trying to make a statement as far as New York hip-hop, you know, he is one of the cats that is representing New York, I feel, to the fullest right now. To me, it’s not a triple platinum artist, it’s more [about] that integrity, respect that people get from the street and the type of music they put out. Maino is a real dude and you can hear it in his music.” (SOHH)
