Eminem, Rihanna, & Baby Will Be Out-Sold By Susan Boyle?!!

Yall remember hearing about the lady from the UK TV show Britain’s Got Talent”? Well her name is Susan Boyle and she’s on track to outsell Eminem knockin’ him from the 2009 #1 selling album spot. Ain’t that a bitch?!! Ms. Boyle is also gonna outsell Rihanna and the Birdman with her new album. Read the details below….

U.S. music retailers say they are realizing Susan Boyle’s dreams, as her album “I Dreamed A Dream” is blowing up way beyond sales expectations. Label and distribution executives, meanwhile, project that based on early sales returns at the big box stores and pre-orders at direct marketers like Amazon and QVC, Boyle’s album is in contention to beat this year’s top debut-week seller, Eminem’s “Relapse.” That title scanned 608,000 units in the week ending May 24, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That week also represents the best overall sales week for an album this year. (Billboard)

That’s right, folks, the team of Barnett and Boyle, as in Columbia’s fearless leader Steve, will be #1 next week with a total that right now appears more than 600k and, dare we say it, could go even higher. Def Jam/IDJ’s Rihanna, whose new album Rated R has been getting stellar reviews in the L.A. and N.Y. Times and Rolling Stone, is on line for 180-200k. A couple of Cash Money/Universal Republic acts in Jay Sean and Birdman are the other new releases, both trending in the 30-35k range. (Hits Daily Double)

Baby and Slim of Cash Money To Teach Law School Students

Cash Money’s Baby and Slim will be making an appearance at Pace University School Of Law to school Professor Vernon Brown’s Law students on the politics behind the music industry and how they have been able to manuever within that system. This is a good look for the Cash Money CEO’s and I think more universities need to develop various ways to study the hip hop culture on many levels. Read more below…

The Williams brothers, who recently marked their 10th Anniversary of a historic deal between their record label Cash Money Records and Universal, will discuss how legal issues have impacted their careers, in addition to taking part in a Q and A session.

“The goal is to give my entertainment law students practical knowledge in working with their clients and interacting with label executives,” Brown explained. “What artists expect from their attorneys and what they should expect from their clients. The class is like Inside the Actor’s Studio for lawyers, offering practical advice for the way things actually work in the real world.”

Professor Brown has been Cash Money’s business manager and attorney for 14 years and is one of the industry’s leading business managers.

Brown also serves as the CEO of the V. Brown & Company, which represents a variety of entertainment clients, including Hype William, the Notorious B.I.G., Erykah Badu, Ne-Yo and others.

“My long-range goal is to give a similar class to junior high school and high school students, to make them aware of other careers that exist in the entertainment world other than as performers,” Brown added.

Baby On Being Compared To Jay-Z: “We Make The Most Money So We The Best”

Baby recently did another interview and responded like this when asked about whether or not his Young Money/ Cash Money brand should be compared to Jay-Z’s…

“No n*gga in the business itself make more money than us,” Baby explained in an interview. “More than [Wayne], than us. So how could a motherf*cker even want that title if he ain’t making the most and I don’t think the n*gga can rap better and I don’t think the people feel him like that, it ain’t about us, it’s about the people. I think we do the most. So if I win the most championships, it must mean I’m the best. That’s how I look at it, we make the most money. Until a n*gga can come by and say he make more money Cash Money, Young Money, why would you want to say you’re the best? And that’s a personal pride, you can live with that on your own…” (Rolling Out TV)

Do yall agree or disagree with Birdman?

Baby: “I Wanna Build Like The Lakers & Make A Billion Like Michael Jackson”

Baby has big dreams! He recently stated that he is tryna get his money game high up in the ranks of Michael Jackson and other billionares in the game. He also spoke on building the Cash Money brand like the Lakers team. The nigga been goin since the early nineties so I gotta give him his respect on that one. N. O. stand up!

“I have my new album which is called Priceless coming in November, really first we got Drake [So Far Gone re-release] album coming out September 15th,” Baby said in an interview. “We have my album, we have the Young Money [compilation] album, we have Wayne album, we have Jay Sean album, G. Malone coming out. All this coming out third and fourth quarter so you know, we just been getting it together and loading it up…I think music goes with movies — I think with music, there’s so much more we got to do. I like what Michael Jackson did, Michael Jackson was a billionaire, that’s my goal. That’s our goal as a company, to be a billionaire. That’s a lot of hard work…We just signed Bow Wow, he’s on Cash Money now. That’s official. To me, I’m just trying to build something, like the Lakers. Do it every year, repeat.”

Lil Wayne and Baby Speak On Growing Up Poor In New Orleans On VH1 Show

Lil Wayne and Baby will be on the first episode of VH1’s Behind The Music. They will fill the world in on all the struggles they had to face being broke and comin’ up in New Orleans. I’m from New Orleans so I know the grind Cash Money was on since 1995. They’ve deinitely put in some work. This should be a good show because there is a lot of poverty death, and injustices against African Americans to speak on when you’re a product of the N.O. I’ll be tivo’ing this one next month. Baby Speaks On Early Cash Money Struggles: “We Lost A Lotta Friends…A Lotta Blood Came With This Life”

Baby recently spoke on what it was like when Cash Money was building it’s foundation in the beginning. I respect any person who can have a vision and have enough determination to grind it out the way that Cash Money has done. I’m from New Orleans so I saw them building their situation from the ground up when Lil Wayne was only 12 years old with damn near no fan base and when Juvenile went from makin’ bounce music (a local form of New Orleans rap music) to spittin’ shit like “Project Chick.” I also saw B.G. come up in the game and hell, I even saw the Cash Money artists that the world never got introduced to like female rapper Ms. Tee and the New Orleans rap group, UNLV. The point I’m tryna make is when you want something bad enough, stay focused and shoot for the moon the way that Cash Money has done for decades. Even if you fall short just like the old saying goes, you will still fall on a star. Aiight, that’s my message for the day…LOL. Read more of what Baby was talkin’ about below… Read more
